Some geometric aspects of Puiseux surfaces
The following problem is treated: Characterizing the tangent cone and the equimultiple locus of a Puiseux surface (that is, an algebroid embedded surface admitting an equation whose roots are Puiseux power series), using a set of exponents appearing in a root of an equation. The aim is knowing to which extent the well–known results for the quasi–ordinary case can be extended to this much wider ...
متن کاملStable Complete Embedded Minimal Surfaces in H1 with Empty Characteristic Locus Are Vertical Planes
In the recent paper [12] we have proved that the only stable C minimal surfaces in the first Heisenberg group Hn which are graphs over some plane and have empty characteristic locus must be vertical planes. This result represents a sub-Riemannian version of the celebrated theorem of Bernstein. In this paper we extend the result in [12] to C complete embedded minimal surfaces in H with empty cha...
متن کاملLie Algebroid Foliations and E(m)-dirac Structures
We prove some general results about the relation between the 1-cocycles of an arbitrary Lie algebroid A over M and the leaves of the Lie algebroid foliation on M associated with A. Using these results, we show that a E1(M)-Dirac structure L induces on every leaf F of its characteristic foliation a E1(F )-Dirac structure LF , which comes from a precontact structure or from a locally conformal pr...
متن کاملGood formal structures for flat meromorphic connections, II: Higher-dimensional varieties
Given a formal flat meromorphic connection over an algebraic variety over a field of characteristic zero, or a complex analytic variety, we prove existence of good formal structures and a good Deligne-Malgrange lattice after a canonically determined blowing up. This extends our prior result for surfaces; it also reproduces a result of Mochizuki by restricting to algebraic connections. As in our...
متن کاملIrreducibility criterion for algebroid curves
The purpose of this paper is to give an algorithm for deciding the irreducibility of reduced algebroid curves over an algebraically closed field of arbitrary characteristic. To do this, we introduce a new notion of local tropical variety which is a straightforward extension of tropism introduced by Maurer, and then give irreducibility criterion for algebroid curves in terms local tropical varie...
